WESTERN ARKANSAS ANESTHESIA, Inc. located in Fort Smith is actively recruiting an Anesthesiologist.  This private group of 9 physicians and 5 CRNA’s, is affiliated with ST. EDWARD MERCY MEDICAL CENTER, a general acute-care 343 bed hospital, which serves a population of over 430,000.  The center was named as one of the “Top 100 Cardiovascular Hospitals in the Nation” for its cardiac bypass surgery services, according to a study by HCIA, a Baltimore-based health care information company. 

In addition, St. Edward unveiled its $70 million “Centers of Excellence” in July of 2002 with facilities for the treatment of heart disease; women and children; and outpatient procedures.  The new complex includes a 55,488 square-foot state-of-the-art ST. EDWARD MERCY HEART CENTER offering comprehensive heart services and the 77,997 square-foot ST. EDWARD OUTPATIENT CENTER offering surgical treatment without overnight stay.
