The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Oncology at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University are seeking a chief of Gynecologic Oncology and a Gynecologic Oncologist.
The successful candidates must be BC/BE in OBGYN and eligible for or currently hold a certificate of special competence in Gynecologic Oncology from the American Board of OBGYN. Special consideration given to those with training and/or interest in minimally invasive robotics.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology clinical volumes include about 3900 deliveries per year, 600-650 maternal transports per year, 200-250 new cases of cancer per year, and an in-vitro program doing 80-100 cycles per year. ECU is the only academic center in North Carolina with both a Gamma Knife and a CyberKnife for optimal radiosurgery from head to toe. The institutions support an ob/gyn residency program of 20 residents and approximately 10% of the graduating medical students enter obstetrics and gynecology residencies.
Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center is a regional center that offers comprehensive care for women with cancer and boasts the most advanced radiotherapy technology in the state of North Carolina. The center has seven oncologists, one gynecologic oncologist, and six surgeons with expertise in breast, thoracic, gastrointestinal and endocrine cancer surgery; two pediatric oncologists; and three radiation oncologists. Cancer patients who meet the eligibility criteria may stay free of charge at the American Cancer Society's McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge during radiation treatments.
Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University:
The School of Medicine provides accredited education programs for medical students, residents and fellows, doctoral students in the basic medical sciences, and practicing physicians.
