About Our Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Family Practitioner at DickinsonMemorialHospital, part of Dickinson County Healthcare System, in Iron Mountain, Michigan.  This is a joint recruitment with Michigan-Wisconsin Family Practice Associates P.C. OB is a requirement of the position.  This opportunity offers employment with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package.  Partnership options are available after 2 years.  The clinic is a RHC, so student loan repayment is also an option.

Michigan-Wisconsin Family Practice Associates P.C is located in the DickinsonMedicalBuilding, adjacent to the hospital.  The clinic physicians provide traditional family medicine services.

Dickinson County Healthcare System has a proud tradition of providing high quality, comprehensive healthcare that is locally accessible for its citizens; its strategic location on the border of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin positions it to serve people in a six county area.  The new Dickinson Memorial Hospital is a 96-bed facility that was constructed in 1996.  Community support in combination with vision and adherence to mission on the part of the Board of Trustees and Administration has allowed the healthcare system to grow and expand services and to offer much more than the typical community hospital.  Additionally, a highly motivated, entrepreneurial and professional work force has allowed us to fulfill what we have termed The Dickinson Difference.  In July of 2009 a fully staffed 24 / 7 Hospitalist Program was implemented; all hospitalists are Internal Medicine specialists and are comfortable with ICU coverage.

About Dickinson County Michigan

Dickinson County is very family-oriented and safe, with a low crime rate.  Education is a high priority with many excellent school systems to choose from.  Secondary education is also accessible.  Bay College, in Escanaba, has recently completed construction of its Iron Mountain extension campus.  We work closely with the college for clinical rotations for many of its health care related programs.

There are 4 seasons of recreational activities including golf, water sports, skiing, hunting, fishing hiking to name a few.  While we do have a definite winter season, the area does not get as much snow as the majority of the Upper Peninsula.

Success Story
"I have utilized the PracticeMatch database for just over a year and have found it to be a tremendous resource for signing and building relationships with practitioners. The website has enabled me to locate and ink three physicians in the past year (a hospitalist and two anesthesiologists), which has saved our medical center for than $60K in recruiting fees. Additionally, thanks to PracticeMatch, several 2010 candidates are coming to visit soon. What makes PracticeMatch great is the fact that you can drill down the data with very specific search criteria. Looking for physicians particularly interested in your state? Done. How about residents from local medical schools? Done. I am a believer in PracticeMatch. They are committed to their product and serving their customers - both physicians and recruiters."
