Pocono Medical Center, in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, is a 233-bed Community Hospital that has been transitioning since 2004 into a Regional Medical Center.  PMC is located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania—just 75 miles from Manhattan and 90 minutes from Philadelphia.

PMC employs more than 1,400 employees. Currently 200 physicians are on PMC's medical staff covering more than 30 specialties.

Pocono Health System is committed to the highest quality of care and prevention of illness, the promotion of wellness and the restoration of health in an environment of collaboration, compassion and respect. Currently, Pocono Medical Center has completed a $54 million expansion program offering additional clinical space (100,000 sq. ft.) and improved cardiac care. The expansion includes additional patient rooms, a new Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging Facility, featuring a 64 Slice CTA, new Critical Care Units,and 10 new Surgical Suites. The centerpiece of the expanded facility is the new ESSA Heart & Vascular Institute, to include open heart surgery.

In addition, plans are in progress for PMC to become a Level III Trauma Center in the very near future.  Plus, the hospital's expansion will continue over the next several years with a main focus in Surgery, Women's & Children's Services, Primary Care, Oncology, Musculoskeletal Services, and Cardiac Wellness.  Pocono Medical Center is the sole provider to a primary service area of 175,000 residents. Due to many outdoor amenities, our population can grow to over 500,000.
