Children’s Hospital Intensive Care Associates is seeking a sixth Pediatric Intensivist for private practice model group.  The multi-disciplinary PICU, located in 170-bed Methodist Children’s Hospital, has 17 beds and more than 1,200 admissions per year.

Due to our expanding pediatric cardiothoracic surgery program, individuals are expected to have expertise in management of post-op cardiac patients.  The Intensivist Group also provides medical direction and staff education for PICU, transport team, pediatric respiratory therapy, PALS, and is actively involved in Outreach.  Individuals interested in clinical research can be supported, and are encouraged to apply.  The Intensivists are part of a multi-specialty group that has published more than 40 peer reviewed articles in the past year.

Methodist Children’s Hospital, opened in 1998, is a member of Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio, Texas.  The PICU is staffed 24/7 by our Pediatric Intensivist Group providing care to medical and surgical (cardiothoracic, general surgery, orthopedics) patients.  ECMO, Inhaled Nitric Oxide CRRT, and other modalities needed for higher level of support are available.  Methodist Children’s Hospital has active pediatric hematology/ oncology, and blood and marrow transplant programs.  A separate provide pediatric hospitalist service and multiple pediatric subspecialists are present to provide comprehensive pediatric care.
