About Our Opportunity


Private practice group seeks two BE/BC Cardiologists (interventional and non-interventional) to join their full service cardiology practice with complete in office diagnostics and electronic medical records. Current call is 1:6 for Cardiology issues only. A comprehensive and hard working hospitalist group makes for a benign call schedule. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, collegial group of six university trained cardiologists expanding the practice, in part of the recent addition of the hospitals cardiothoracic surgery program.

 

You will be busy from day one as demand for cardiology services is growing rapidly offering local patients the opportunity to receive advanced heart care in their home community. Currently under construction, the new RMH hospital and health campus will be a state-of-the-art facility, with four angio suites to open 2010. There is an excellent referral base in the medical community and dynamic relationship with hospital administration.

 

Practice at one hospital with no competition and an easy commute to and from your home and office. There is an excellent balance between work and family life with ample vacation time and scheduled weekdays off. The group is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes health, dental, retirement, paid malpractice insurance, CME allowance and relocation assistance. A short partnership track is available.

About Valley Health Plan


Valley Health Plan, a Physician Hospital Organization (PHO), is jointly owned by Rockingham Memorial Hospital and local physicians. VHP works closely with private physician practices to provide them with the resources and assistance they need to recruit new physicians to the area.

 

The Hospital

 

Rockingham Memorial Hospital located in Harrisonburg, is an independent, not-for-profit community hospital that provides advanced medical care and leading-edge technology.  Providing healthcare services since 1912, Rockingham Memorial Hospital has 270 beds and serves a seven-county area with a population of nearly 200,000. Services provided at RMH in 2007 included totals of

 

  • 15,685 inpatient admissions
  • 1,739 babies delivered
  • 19,828 surgical patients
  • 16,216 cancer treatments
  • 69,544 emergency department visits

In early 2008, RMH began its cardiothoracic surgery program, offering local patients the opportunity to receive advanced heart care in their home community.

 

Currently under construction is the new RMH hospital and health campus on a 254-acre tract of land east of Harrisonburg. This state-of-the-art facility, scheduled to open in 2010, will give RMH the opportunity to provide a second century of service to the community.

 

For the third year in a row (2005, 2006, 2007), RMH has received the HealthGrades® Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™, placing us in the top five percent of all hospitals in the nation.
