Description:
· The ideal candidate should be well trained, BE/BC, skilled in general pediatric cardiology, all aspects of noninvasive diagnostic modalities including transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal Echo and have a liking/training in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and cardiac MRI.
· The physician will share equal call with minimal inpatient responsibilities on call and 80% of time spent in one of our 3 offices which are all equipped with state of the art Echo machines and staffed with pediatric trained full time Echo techs.
· The group is committed to getting a fully digital Echo lab and EMR in the near future.
· The referral base consists of 1.5 million people throughout northeast TN, southwest Virginia and eastern Kentucky
· He/she should have excellent interpersonal skills, good work ethic and interact well with peers and community physicians.

Johnson City Medical Center, is a 450-bed, tertiary facility. It is part of the Mountain States Health Alliance, a 15-facility system and the largest in Northeast Tennessee and SW Virginia with programs reaching into Kentucky and North Carolina. Johnson City Medical Center is a major medical referral center with Level I Trauma care and the region's only dedicated emergency medical air transport service and Pediatric Emergency Room. The existing Children's Hospital has 20 licensed pediatric beds, 10 licensed PICU and 32 licensed NICU beds - total 62 licensed beds. The new Children's Hospital (opening March 2009) will be adding an additional 7 licensed NICU beds (total 39 NICU) for a total of 69. The Niswonger Children's Hospital has it own dedicated Emergency Department with a Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
