Metro Health Hospital, a non-profit, 208-bed general acute care osteopathic teaching hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pulmonary/Critical Care Intensivist.  Successful candidates will share in leadership and patient management of our 16-bed ICU, medical care of our Assisted Breathing Center (42-bed unit, ventilator-dependant patients) and a 10-bed Sleep Lab.  Candidates will also have the opportunity with an ambulatory practice in our attached Professional Buliding.  This is an excellent opportunity to work at the new facility (opened in 2007) in our growing, compassionate, award-winning health care organization, located just a few minutes from the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan.

As an independent community-based hospital, we give our physicians a strong voice in the governance and operation of our organization, and we work hard to provide the best patient, physician, employee and community experience.  Physicians will enjoy a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefit package.

About MetroHealth

The new Metro Health is the region's first suburban hospital that services more than 130,000 patients in Kent and surrounding counties.  The site is unique in the nation.  It is not just a hospital campus, it's a health care village - Metro Health Village - a 170-acre, mixed-use development at the Byron Center Avenue exit along the fast growing corridor of the M6 expressway.  The new hospital sits at the center of the village.  It features 208 private inpatient rooms in a facility that's one and a half times as large as the previous hospital.  Every inch has been designed to change and improve the patient experience.  From the healing gardens to the glass atrium lobby to the curved corridors to a cutting edge information system that simplifies processes and improves patient care, it all looks, feels and works better.
Metro Health Hospital offers a broad range of services, including impatient and oupatient care, emergency, surgery, intensive care, childbirth, rehabilitation, wellness and community education.  It provides physician training in affiliation with Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

The village that surrounds the hospital will have more than 40 other buildings.  Among these buildings will be physician offices, medical specialty centers, restaurants, shops and retailers.  The village plan also includes a hotel, parks, walking trails and a YMCA where wellness, day care and medical services will be provided.
