Medical Director – Pediatric Intensive Care
 

The Department of Pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine is seeking a pediatric intensivist/medical director to join the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.

 

The Department of Pediatrics strives to provide the highest standard of medical care for pediatric patients from birth through adolescence, encompassing primary and sub-specialty care.  The department and UMC Health System are committed to ensure excellence in the education of medical students and resident physicians; provide the highest quality medical care for our pediatric patients; and serve as an advocate for pediatric health issues throughout the region and state.  Other Pediatric Sub-Specialty Services include:  Cardiology, Endocrinology, Hospitalist, Infectious Disease, Oncology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Otorhinolaryngolgy, Pulmonology, Radiology, Surgery and Urology.

 

For over 25 years, UMC Children's HOspital has been a proud partner of Children's Miracle Network (CMN).  Through this partnership, UMC and CMN have been able to provide state-of-the-art medical technology to the children of the South Plains and Eastern New Mexico.  The UMC Children's Hospital is home to the region's only Burn Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Program, and leads the region in trauma services.  A nationally-certified child life specialist is also on staff to help children and their families cope with the physical and emotional aspects of their treatment.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to expand services while also working with medical students and residents.  Candidate may be MD or DO, must be board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.  Competitive salary, possible production incentives, relocation expenses, CME/professional development (APA dues paid by department), and a generous state benefits package await the qualified candidate.

About Lubbock, TX

 

Lubbock, Texas is located in northwest Texas. Considered to be at the center of the South Plains, the area is located between the Permian Basin to the south and the Texas Panhandle to the north.

 

 The “West Texas Walk of Fame” features a bigger-than-life sized statue (by sculptor Grant Speed) of  Lubbock’s own Buddy Holly.  Each year musicians, artists, actors and entertainers from Lubbock and surrounding communities are inducted into the Walk of Fame.
